In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different
-coco chanel-
When we believe we are losing control, we grab on tight. If we want to avoid pain, we hold on for dear life. When we are in fear of losing, looking bad or being abandoned, we tighten our grip. When our greatest fears come up on us, we clench our fist and teeth, close our eyes and hold on. We must learn to let go. We have the capacity to live through any adversary if we simply let go. We cannot stop time or destiny. whatever is going to happen has already happened; we must learn how to see through to the end. When we hold on, we prolong the pain. When we dig our feet in, we must be uprooted. When the time comes for growth and change, we must have the courage and faith to let go.
STYLE QUEEN!!!
Way before there was Rihanna, we had Erykah Badu. If you dont know her I suggest you Google it now.
her style and flavour is always impressive. her fashion is the ultimate epitome of self expression
Graphic patterns
Illusions and confusions
that's what i'ma call it ^__^
I have always been a huge fan of stripes and stamp printed patterns. thanks to miss twiggy and Gwen Stefani and being a huge ass fan of No Doubt since childhood she was always the one I looked to to be honest, way before I found such profound interest in fashion
Twiggy in the 60's |
Gwen on sweet escape
I am in love with this next look. Thanks to Oliver Roustieng, the head designer at the house of Art Deco. Balmain that is ^__^
this collection reminds me of why I really want to be in this industry. This is faultless designing from colour choices, to shapes, print and scale of prints. As you can see the pattern is taken from the aw/12 collection which story still continues into this collection however with urban edge.
seasons staple of super graphic in my opinion. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!
Balmain ss13.
This collection was ace, got the 'rib drift' as I like to call it, masculine trouser, broad shoulders and the super bold graphic patterns.
right up my street this is!!!
if you haven't seen this collection then you are super missing out on something!! lol
Amaze-balls!!!
Marc Jacobs captured this trend so beautifully with a quirky nod back to the 60's but making it so modern and so never been seen before. Now I'm a fan of Marc Jacobs. I think this is his best collection yet!!
finally making fashion fun ^___^
The scale of the pattern makes this design look super epic.com, it is so futuristic and so FRESH!
Daria.. Misery love Company? xxxx
Who remember's Daria from back in the day. I know I am only too young but I remember sorta watching it years ago, but as of recent it is playing of Sky again. I find originality in the work that went on to produce such a classic.
For those of you lovely's that don't know about Daria, well.. It's an american animated TV show about a very smart misanthropic teenage girl in high school.
All the characters lives are full of temptations, distractions and criticisms of popular culture and and their social status.
Their friendship is some kind of wonderful. 'Misery loves company'
Plain Jane Lane is Doria's bff ^___^ she is an epic character kinda like me hehe ^^
LOW-CLASSICS
I am so very pleased at this very moment as I stumbled upon my very new discovery, an amazing one at that. Low Classic!!!! This is a Korean fashion brand created in 2009 by a powerful trio of the fashion backgrounds. Lee Myeong Sin, who is a creative fashion designer that showcased her talent on the Korean version of Project Runway, Hwang Hyun Ji, a former fashion buyer and Park Jin Sun who worked as a an assistant for a fashion editor. Even though they are all from different fashion backgrounds, some how they come together magical to form a united colour that is Low Classic.
AW12 |
Their clothes come across as minimal, however I think they are full of subtle and beautiful details, they have very clean lines, truly CLASSIC and timeless at that. Low Classics resembles that of high fashion designers such as Philip Lim and Celine, designers whose work I love and totally admiration, However Low Classic is of that designer quality and style with great affordability, with product cost similar to that of high street price points. This rare find of mine has given me such inspiration for an ongoing private projects that I have been working on with my bestie, I now feel more inspired that our idea's can travel further than we originally thought.
2013 is our year to make it happen by the grace of god.

Low Classic SS13 look is so unique in the concept development and style. The vintage air mail envelopes seems to be the inspiration behind this collection. you just have to take a glance at their work and be 'gubsmacked'. I totally stared at my computer screen in amazement for 10 minutes, wishing! I came up with this concept, with this whole entire collection. They get better with each collection. best one yet.
